Squarespace Note, A Minimal, Idea-Catching Note App

Things don't get more minimal than this.

Things don't get more minimal than this.

Squarespace, the slick website hosting company, has come up with an interesting take on Drafts-style fast note-taking apps. It’s called Squarespace Note, and it is pretty nice looking.

You don’t need a Squarespace account to use Note, although if you do have one you can use the app to post straight to your site – neat for blogging. For everyone else, the app will let you jot down your thoughts quickly on launch – just like Drafts – and then choose what to do with them afterwards.

Export options include Dropbox, email, Twitter, Evernote and others, and you can also choose to attach your location, something that could prove to be very handy for remembering places.

Squarespace Note isn’t nearly as fully-features as Drafts, but it does share one important feature: it is as minimalist as it gets. The app is little more than a blank white screen with black icons and sans-serif text. Hell, even the keyboard is grayscale.

Not convinced? It doesn’t matter! The app is completely free so you may as well just go grab it. And if you have a Squarespace blog, it could just prove to be a very useful app indeed.
